Dr. Tightskin is a delightful new romantic comedy fiction novel from the award-winning author, Suzanne Elizabeth Gillis. The story is about a thrice divorced, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon who reluctantly agrees to perform a sex change operation on a man, and then finds himself slowly falling in love with him. As the newly disgraced plastic surgeon, Dr. Rupert Shapiro, agrees to change a trans singer into a female goddess, in attempts to regain his career after a new surgeon arrives in town, with a face altering machine, that is stealing away all of his famous patients. 

He soon meets, Miss Tyrone Kline, who is desperate to win the love of her non-committal heterosexual actor roommate, Ned, who only dates 'real' woman, agrees to undergo a complete transformation with the help of Dr. Rupert Shapiro and Dr. Leonard Hirsch, Rupert’s best friend and fellow plastic surgeon. The goal is so they can win this years highly coveted first prize at the annual Plastic Surgeons award ceremony, hoping that their new 'project' will win over Dr. Picard's new face transforming machine.

As Dr. Shapiro slowly transforms Tyrone into Tara, they find themselves both confronting their deepest fears and phobias, forcing themselves to re-evaluate their entire lives with all of it's personal and professional limitations, resulting in surprisingly new kind of unexpected 'healing love' that brings them both to their knees, which is the kind of love that had always alluded them both up till now.
